Design plans are the first plans drawn when designing a house. They depict shape, layout and position, fixture placement, and exterior style.
Floor Plans: Drawings of the interior layout of the house, with details such as dimensions, stairways, basic cabinet and fixture layouts, closets, and decks.
Elevations: Two-dimensional drawings of the house exterior, from four directions. Details include doors, windows, decks, railings, grade, siding and trim.
Design Section: A vertical slice through the house.
Plot Plan: Drawing of the full building lot showing the footprint of the house, decks, driveway and parking area, septic system (if any), roof lines and major trees.
Models or perspective drawings are also available to help you visualize your home.
